When This Chronically Ill 8-Year-Old Wrote A Book For Sick Kids, He Had No Idea Trump Would Read It

Ashton Zari is a strong 8-year-old boy from West Virginia who has been through a lot of challenging times at such a young age. He was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease and has withstood a number of painful operations to improve his overall health. His willingness to help others has allowed him to use his pain as a mechanism to help other people who are suffering.

His first book entitled “How I Became A Super Hero” was published to give encouragement to other kids who are suffering from medical conditions. Now that Ashton has completed his first book, he can now check it off of his list of accomplishments, while being able to get it into the hands of President Donald Trump.

President Donald Trump was visiting the Nationwide Children’s Hospital where Ashton is a patient. The hospital is located in Columbus, Ohio. After finding out that the president would be visiting the hospital, Ashton wanted nothing more than to meet the president. Amanda Zari is Ashton’s mother. She wasn’t sure if she would be able to make this dream come true for Ashton, but she was determined to do her best. Though she didn’t want to discourage him, she also didn’t want to get his hopes up in case she wasn’t able to establish a meeting with the president.

With the help of Ashton’s wonderful nurse, they were able to make his dream come true. On the day of August 24th, Ashton’s nurse was able to spread the word around to some very important people on her hospital floor along with the nursing and presidential staff. The staff as a whole was able to put together the meeting between Ashton, President Trump and the first lady.

Being able to hand his book to President Trump was a dream come true for Ashton. The kindness and compassion exuding from the Trumps were overwhelming for Ashton’s mom. She states that the entire experience was hard for her to describe. President Trump was very empathetic towards Ashton and his medical condition.

The president showed genuine interest in Ashton’s book and took the time to ask him questions about it along with questions about his health. This was a meeting Ashton and his mom had not imagined would ever happen. After the meeting, Ashton’s mom was very grateful to have had the experience and she was even more humbled that her son had this opportunity.
