When These Cops Released Orphaned Ducklings Into A New Pond, They Never Expected The Other Ducks To React Like This

Baby ducklings have a tragically notoriously tough time making it to adulthood, especially without a mother. But it's not always their genetic mother that comes to the rescue of helpless ducklings. 

In May 2018, a professional golfer at South Winds Golf Club located in Southgate, Michigan named Chris Grandy noticed that a duck in the club's main pond had laid nine eggs. Chris, an animal lover, made sure not to disturb them and instructed others to do the same. After a few weeks, all nine of the eggs hatched adorable tiny ducklings.

The big family of the mother and nine ducklings spent their first few days together wandering around the green course and splashing around in the pond. It was an ideal habitat for the duck family, as there was plenty of nature and little human disturbance from the golfers. Little did they know, there was going to be some big changes happening. 

In June of the same year, Denise Desrosiers, a local animal control official, was sent out on a troubling call. She was warned that there were 10 ducklings wandering around on a busy highway nearby. She rushed to the scene and spotted all the ducklings but no mother in sight, so Denise assumed that they were orphans trying to make it without the help of a mother. 

She decided to take them to the local golf club. Chris assisted Denise but he had concerns about their welfare. They seemed too small to survive on their own, even if they were in the new safe environment on the golf course. 

The ducklings were released and they soon spotted another family of ducks. The 10 orphans quickly swam over and were immediately accepted by the mother. She happily accepted the orphaned ducklings into her big family. 

A video of the incident has gone viral, which commenters saying how adorable the duck's maternal instincts were that kicked in when she saw the orphaned ducklings. Watch this heartwarming video, and see more about this story below!
