Christmas is still far off, but this is an amazing story that is sure to evoke a sense of holiday warmth. A neighborhood in Glamorgan, Wales, recently lost a long-time resident. Ken Watson was 87 when he died, and he was known for having a lively personality.

After Ken passed away, his neighbor Owen Williams told Wales Online a brief story about the first time he and Ken met. Owen had been living in the neighborhood for three years and made a point of meeting all the neighbors on his street. He went to Ken's house to say hello, but Ken wasn't there. The next day, Owen saw the 83-year-old man vigorously climbing a 20-foot ladder at the top of his house, and he said that this turned out to be very characteristic of the man.

Ken didn't have any grandchildren of his own, but he liked to spend time with the neighborhood kids during the holidays. After Ken passed away, the neighborhood was saddened, and Ken's family set to the task of ordering his household belongings.

Shortly afterward, Owen received a visit from Ken's daughter. She was carrying a plastic bag with an amazing surprise inside. The bag contained numerous presents that Ken had bought for Owen's two-year-old daughter, Cadi. Ken was known for saying he intended to live to be 100 years old, and the bag contained enough gifts for each year until Cadi turned 16.

There were 14 presents wrapped in the bag that were intended to be given one for each year. When the family saw the presents, they decided they should open at least one of the gifts. When they unwrapped the present, it turned out to be the classic children's book "Christmas Eve at the Mellop's" by Tomi Ungerer.

The Williams family said they are saving the other gifts for the years to come, just as Ken would have wanted. The family has posted on Twitter that the presents will last them until the year 2032, and they will provide fond memories of their beloved neighbor each holiday season. Many people who read the story on Twitter were touched, and they left heartfelt comments that encouraged the family to stay true to the tradition of remembering Ken each Christmas.
