Chuck Norris was a well-known action star in the 1980s, and his fame had a resurgence in the internet era when the Chuck Norris meme spawned countless jokes exaggerating his formidable nature.

Many of the jokes went viral, and they still pop up every now and then. Norris hasn't starred in any large productions since 2012, so some of his fans are wondering if the actor and martial artist is still alive.

Chuck is still alive and thriving, and his career still continues at his advanced age of 79. Last year, Norris hosted a racing event that was themed after him. Five thousand people came dressed as Chuck, and they traveled from all over the nation to participate in a five-kilometer charity running event.

The fans who traveled thousands of miles were thrilled to see the man in person, and some of them shared some of their favorite jokes with him. He has always taken the jokes with good humor, and he has been known to recite some of his favorites in interviews and public events.

The charity run was for Norris's Kick Start Kids organization that the actor launched in 1990 along with President George H. W. Bush. The program uses karate to teach children values such as respect, discipline, loyalty and confidence. Chuck still plays a leadership role in the children's organization.

Norris lives in a ranch in Texas along with his wife Gena whom he married in 1998, and they are raising some young children. They currently have five children and six grandchildren. Chuck informed interviewers that they have their own alligator at the ranch. Over the years, Chuck has maintained his priorities that put God first. He is also devoted to his family and people in need.

Chuck still appears on television occasionally in commercials, and he doesn't have intentions of retiring from his current activities. The reputation of the man as a powerhouse is well-deserved even as he approaches his eighties. The fighting system that chuck Norris founded, Chun Kuk Do, states that one must remain goal-oriented throughout life, and chuck is holding true to his creed.
