Johnny, the young son of magician Criss Angel, has recently returned to the hospital for cancer treatment.

Angel, 52, announced to TMZ earlier this month that Johnny’s rare form of leukemia has returned after he was initially diagnosed in 2015 at the young age of 21 months. Angel later posted photos on Instagram on Boxing Day supporting Johnny during his chemotherapy as the two waited in a hospital bed together. He captioned the photo, “Back today for a long day of chemo...” tagging the Cure 4 The Kids foundation (@cure4thekids) of Nevada.

Johnny’s mom Shaunyl Benson also posted a photo on Instagram calling attention to childhood cancer which she wrote “is happening right now,” sharing statistics and her son’s personal journey of battling the disease for 3 years with another 3 to go. She wrote that the medications make Johnny “sad and angry,” and the family has to plan the next hospital stay rather than the next year of school.

Angel announced that he is filming a documentary called “1095” about his son’s battle with leukemia in order to raise awareness about child cancer. The proceeds are set to go towards pediatric cancer research and treatment.

“We went through it and we want to share it with the world so that other people don't have to be alone and they can have the support that they need and we can raise awareness for pediatric cancer, and dollars so that one day it can make it poof, disappear,” the magician said, according to the Daily Mail.

It is with his talent that Criss Angel wants to raise funds and awareness for children with cancer everywhere and for his son, about whom he spoke with reporters in 2016 during his son’s remission and lovingly said:

“My son is supposed to outlive me. I’d rather it be me that was sick,” he said to People. “I want Johnny’s future to be long and happy. That kid is just a bundle of love. He’s the truest form of magic.”

We are very sad to hear that little Johnny must once more fight cancer. Please drop a comment to show your support for his family in this difficult time and make sure you pass this along to your friends and family.
