We tend to focus on our problems in life, but sometimes forget the many small blessings we have. One of those blessings is being able to see color. For a colorblind person, they never get to see certain things that the rest of us take for granted.

Being colorblind doesn't tend to mess up peoples' lives too badly, although those who have trouble seeing red and green will need to be careful when looking at traffic lights. At the same time, there are many things colorblind people might miss out on, like a beautiful sunset.

One young man decided that he wanted his colorblind girlfriend to be able to enjoy a sunset.

In order to do that, he bought her special lenses as a birthday present, which would allow her to see the sun's colors. These glasses looked like fancy sunglasses to her at first, but once she put them on, she realized that they were a much more thoughtful gift than she'd expected.

The young man, whose name is Colton Donnell, said,

"I have known she was colorblind since I met her our sophomore year of high school. When I knew she was going to turn 17 in a few months, I started saving up so I could buy the glasses."

Once the girl put the sunglasses on, she was immediately surprised and began to smile and laugh with joy. "Holy sh*t!" she exclaimed. She thanked Colton and told him that she loved him, trying to hold back tears.

Colton explained,

"I ordered them and as soon as I was in possession of them, I took her to a spot where I knew we could see the sun set and waited for the perfect time. Then, I gave her the glasses and waited for her to figure out exactly what they were."

It was nice of Colton to buy these glasses for his girlfriend. It showed empathy and a deep level of caring. It was nice to watch the girl's reaction. At the same time, it should remind us all to be thankful for what we have. Seeing the reaction from this girl once she was given the glasses should remind us all how lucky we are to be able to see in color every day. Because she was not able to, she had a very strong and emotional reaction.
