Watch Robert Irwin's Hysterical Animal Interview On Jimmy Fallon With Kevin Hart

Sep 26, 2018 by apost team

Since the days of Johnny Carson, The Tonight Show has always been the place to see interesting animals and amusing interactions with celebrities. Half of the fun of these segments is watching the host nervously interact with an intimidating creature and then freak out over the smallest thing.

This tradition has continued along with current Tonight Show Jimmy Fallon who recently brought Robert Irwin, animal handler extraordinaire, to the show to engage in some animal hi-jinks. However, it turned out the comedic relief of the segment wasn't Fallon or Irwin's critters, it was fellow guest Kevin Hart.

Robert Irwin Comes to the Tonight Show

The son of the famous "Crocodile Hunter" Steve Irwin, Robert has continued in his late father's footsteps by interacting with animals of every stripe. The now 14-year old Robert came onto The Tonight Show ready to show the audience what the family business is all about. While Jimmy was somewhat willing to interact with the critters Robert brought, Kevin wasn't having any of it.

The Fearsome Giselle

"OH, S#!T," cried Kevin as he jumped from the couch at the slight of the frightening and intimidating (or cute and fluffy, depending on your point of view) Giselle the baby ostrich coming to the stage. The comedian spent most of the rest of Giselle's time on the lower half of the stage. When Robert noted that the ostrich chirps a "wonderful" sound as a baby, Kevin heard, "I want some little black man!" and stayed no closer than the far end of Jimmy's desk until Giselle left.

Snakes on a Stage

It didn't get any easier for Kevin when Robert brought a snake onstage. Despite Jimmy's protests ("We're in this together, man!"), Kevin would not hold it, preferring to run around the stage to find a somewhat less snake-infested part of it. While the audience chanted his name, Kevin stayed a hard no. The actor got close to holding Lebron-- while insisting to Robert, "I'll fight you," if the snake bit him-- but ultimately chickened out at the last minute.

Does Whatever a Spider Can

Kevin continued to freak out over the next supposedly small and fluffy animal ("This is how black people die in horror movies!") which turned out to be a tarantula, Big Red. Even Jimmy manages to freak out a bit and try to crawl the wall to escape but ultimately holds the spider. Kevin proceeded to scream and bang the desk to try to rouse Big Red before scampering back to the lower stage. To his credit, Jimmy waited until after Big Red was back in Robert's hands to completely freak out and threaten to kill Kevin Hart on live TV.

Fear of Flying

While Kevin didn't want any part of the segment's guest, he did finally get involved with the last entry, a falcon named Squire. Using heavy leather gloves, Squire flew from Robert to Jimmy to Kevin who kept screaming for Jimmy to get the bird as the segment faded to black. Check out the video here to see for yourself:

A Love for Animals

As funny as the segment was, it's obvious Robert loves and takes great care of these animals as much as his dad did. His knowledge of the animals was heartfelt and deep, possibly informing you of something you didn't know before. What things did you learn from this segment? Does it make you more curious to learn more? If you liked this article, feel free to pass it to others so they can share in the joy!
