Watch BTS Pay Homage To The Beatles In 'Boy With Luv' Performance On Colbert

It wasn’t necessary to adjust your TV set on Wednesday night, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert was in black and white on purpose. It was part of a playful homage to the iconic Beatles appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show in 1964, but this time it was with today’s biggest boy band: BTS.

Billboard magazine reports that BTS is quickly becoming as legendary as the Beatles are with three #1s on the Billboard 200 to their name. An achievement which they reached in just a year. And who do you think was the last band to ever do that? You guessed it, the Beatles.

It would then make sense to honor the musicians that came before them with this tongue-in-cheek tribute. The “Fab Seven” as Colbert called them, were dressed in those famous slim-fitting suits on a set duplicated from the original back in the day.

When Colbert hilariously introduced each member as “the cute one”, the crowd went Beatlemania-level crazy.

Stephen Colbert also did his best Ed Sullivan impression complete with nasal voice and slicked back hair before introducing the band, who performed “Boy With Luv”. The boys performed and sat down with the host before continuing on with their “Love Yourself: Speak Yourself” stadium tour.

The BTS Army, as their fans are called, definitely had some online reactions to the performance. There was a dedicated hashtag #BTSonLSSC which people used to react with some memes and adoring posts.
