Both Kelly Clarkson and John Legend have been said to be unpatriotic when they criticized Gyth Rigdon's singing of "God Bless the U.S.A." on a recent episode of "The Voice."

Rigdon is on Blake Shelton's team and sang "God Bless the U.S.A" on the top eight-episode on Monday night's show.

Clarkson stated that she feels like she isn't allowed to critique anything about this particular song. She felt like if she said anything negative she'd be made to feel like she was going to hell or something. None the less, Clarkson wasn't impressed by Rigdon's vocal performance and believed he could do much better.

Kelly Clarkson was not alone, in her opinion. John Legend, another "The Voice" coach, also criticized Rigdon's performance of the favorite song. While many of the top eight performers celebrated the anniversary of the Beatle's British invasion by singing Beatle's songs, Rigdon chose a selection with a different vibe.

Legend agreed with Clarkson that Rigdon's performance of "God Bless the U.S.A" wasn't his best performance to date. Legend did say that the rendition of the song was strong and emotional, however. Legend also stated that he felt the power in Rigdon's version of the patriotic tune.

Viewers remained less than impressed with Clarkson and Legend's opinion of Rigdon's performance. They accused the two coaches of being "haters."

Some of the comments about the performance and critiques accused Legend and Clarkson of hating America because of their statements about Rigdon's performance. Other comments pointed out that the two judges were criticizing Rigdon's performance, and not the song itself.

What did you think about Gyth Rigdon's performance of the famous patriotic song on Monday night's show? Do you agree with Clarkson and Legend's opinions? Reflect on your opinion, then spread the word to your friends.
