Being honored with the title of Prom King or Prom Queen can be an incredible honor for anyone. Another student at the high school in Nevada decided he wanted to do something for his friend when he was nominated for the honor.

He believed Edgar should be the Prom King.

When Edgar found out he won the coveted title because of the generosity of his friends, he was overwhelmed by emotion. Many of the students ran up to him and embraced him. A few minutes later when the excitement died down, he danced with the Prom Queen to Ed Sheeran’s famous song, “Perfect.”

Social Media Loved the Response to Edgar’s Title

Social media can often be a cruel place. Cyberbullying can even be rampant on social media. However, when everyone saw the video of Edgar wearing the crown, they couldn’t help but be impressed. Many people responded by saying this was how the younger generations should act.

The genuine caring and kindness towards their fellow students is what makes school important. It was incredibly touching to see Edgar get crowned and it made several parents proud that their kids were so kind.

Another Act of Kindness

Nevada schools aren’t the only place where these small acts of kindness are happening.

In a Douglas County school, Brad was also named Prom King. When he saw that his friend and classmate Meghan Bailey won the crown for Prom Queen, he did the unthinkable.

He gave up his crown so her best friend could be the Prom King. Meghan’s closest friend was Brennan, who has down syndrome. Meghan herself had a form of cerebral palsy.
