Viewers Will Cry As Husband Sees His Wife For First Time After Makeover

Back in 2019, after being picked for Ambush Makeovers, Wichita, Kansas couple Keith and Kelly Moore arrived in New York to undergo their transformations.

'Ambush Makeover' is a segment in the Today Show where the show's team style experts will select two participants to undergo head-to-toe transformations weekly.

Back in 2019, couple Keith and Kelly Moore from Wichita, Kansas was surprised by Today Show contributor Jill Martin who then had them flown over to New York to undergo this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Keith and Kelly are the proud parents of a daughter named Jade, who’s also a mother herself now. Alongside her partner Will, she has a young son called Elijah. With that in mind, the latter has been keeping his grandparents on their toes.

Due to the stresses and strains of trying to keep up with Elijah, Kelly and Keith decided to make some big changes in their lives. Indeed, the couple’s most significant goal was to lose a bit of weight, in the hopes that it would make things easier when spending time with their grandson.

Kelly went on to lost over 40 pounds and was hoping for fresh looks for both herself and her husband to celebrate the big feat. "We want to look as good on the outside as we now feel on the inside," she told Today. That made Jill and stylist Louis Licari overly enthusiastic to give her a total transformation.

“I was finding out when I was trying to play with [Elijah] and getting down on the floor, it was too hard,” Kelly explains to Jill. She continues,

“I lost a bunch of weight, and [Keith] lost some weight, and we both feel so much better. We both just feel so much better.”

Finally, it was time for the reveal. “Alright, let’s bring out the new Keith!” host Jenna Bush Hager announces as the grandfather made his way out to the studio. Keith looked transformed, wearing a dark blazer and a stylish pair of jeans. Meanwhile, his locks have been significantly trimmed, and he’s sporting a smart-looking haircut.

His new look catches the hosts completely off-guard, with Jenna unable to contain her surprise. “Oh my gosh!” she says as he walks out in front of the cameras, before adding, “What a dramatic [transformation], Keith!” Hoda Kotb, another one of the hosts, then asks Jade and Will to remove their blindfolds, leaving the couple in shock.

“[Keith is] still crying, this has been so emotional, this whole journey,” Jill says in response. She then adds,

“I love the way you look. Kelly wanted him to have just pieces [of clothing] they loved so much, [which] means they can play with Elijah. And they just wanted this new look.”

Then, it was Kelly's turn. “Alright Kelly, let’s see the new you. Come on out," Hoda exclaimed. A few moments later, Kelly walks into the studio completely transformed, drawing a hugely positive reaction from the hosts. Now the grandmother is wearing a dark shirt, a black pair of jeans, and a light brown jacket.

As Kelly heads towards her family, Hoda tells the quartet to turn around, with Keith is seen holding a bouquet of flowers. He had the same reaction as Jade and Will upon seeing his wife’s new look.

"Obviously, there was once a shy, quiet girl from Wichita, who’s left the building!” Louis enthused. He adds, “Right now you can see [with] Kelly, I followed her gray pattern and made it bright where she was gray, kept it darker in the back where she was dark. I added a few highlights, great haircut again [like Keith’s].”

“I’m speechless. I’m speechless. [Keith and Kelly] absolutely [deserve the makeover],” Jade says.
