The legionary ant likes to hang out and move about in large colonies. They enjoy attacking other insects. The way they pounce is quite brilliant, and you might have to look away for a second or two as the legionary ants take on the mighty wasps on their home turf in the hive. Fransisco Boni of Ecuador shared his spectacular video on August 5 on Twitter. It depicts an insect bridge created by the colony of ants that surrounds the big, bad wasp's nest.

The website Earthsky explains that the ant chain is created this way because ants have difficulty walking upside down. The insect bridge formation is made to get into the hive and steal the precious honeycomb, pupae, larvae and eggs. The ants also nab any adult wasps that were unable to flee from the attack.

The legionary ants aren't fools, according to Boni. They're so crafty that they can actually create an ant bridge suspended over water. Twitter users are blown away by the footage of these team-working ants and the hair-raising creepiness that follows when you look at multiple ants attacking other insects.

Folks are totally grossed out, and you might feel the same way when you view the video.

The footage of the attacking ants on the wasp's nest has been seen more than 800,000 times, and people cannot get enough. Are you strong enough to stomach observing these creepy crawlies?
