Family members often go the extra mile at the funeral of a loved one in an effort to make sure the funeral properly represents the deceased family member. But not many of us will get the send-off Mark Shuman received from his family.

CDL Life News reported that The 48-year-old Shuman died a month ago when he lost his battle with brain cancer. Shuman was the owner of a fleet of trucks and the members of his family decided to send him with one last ride on a custom semi.

Shuman's son, Luke, posted a video to Facebook that showed his father's casket being loaded onto the silver and pink truck. An American flag was placed next to the casket. A custom decal was on the side of the truck. The decal read 'In Loving Memory.'

Moments later, a huge convoy of trucks drove by the funeral in what Luke could only characterize as an awesome tribute. In his Facebook post, the grieving son said the day was both special and sad for everyone involved.

Luke went on to say that everyone who knew his father knew that Mark liked to 'go big.' The evidence of this fact can be seen in the video. Some of the trucks that took part in the tribute were designed by Mark.

Luke also thanked the team of drivers who joined his father on his last ride. Luke spoke to the group of truck drivers directly when he wrote the sound of their horns going off all at once caused him to have goosebumps.

He said his smile was as broad as possible across his face despite the tears he shed.

Some of the truckers left comments to the video expressing the hope their funeral will be similar to their fallen friend's homegoing.

One trucker said he was a 33-year veteran truck driver and he just witnessed the way he would like his own send-off to heaven to happen. Another remarked he could imagine the smile on Mark's face.

The St.Judes Children's Hospital is where Mark's family would like donations to be sent. They feel this would be more befitting of Mark's values than sending flowers.

What did you think about the tribute by Mark's friends and family at his funeral? Have you ever thought about how you would want your own funeral to look? Send this article and video to friends and family. It is a remarkable sight to behold.
