Video Captures Toddler Strapped To Car Seat Tumbling Out Of Moving Vehicle In Minnesota

This is the type of story that is every parent's worse nightmare. Thankfully, this story ended positively, but the outcome could have been much worse.
Picture it: You're driving down the road, behind another car and you see something too shocking to believe. A car seat, with a child attached to it, falls out of the car in front of you! While this is too horrifying to imagine, it is exactly the scene that Chad Mock witnessed.
On this fateful day in Minnesota, a two-year-old-girl tumbled out of her parent's vehicle. Though she was strapped to a car seat, the little girl was inches away from danger as she laid on the concrete. Mock could hardly believe what he was seeing. If he wasn't driving attentively, he might've run right over her!

As he immediately put his truck in park, Mock grabbed his phone to start filming. He tried hard to flag down the car in front, but it already disappeared. It was up to Mock to run to the child and save her from the oncoming vehicles.
As he picked her up and checked to see if she was okay, he was relieved to find that she suffered no visible injuries.
The mother, though oblivious at the time, noticed a few blocks later what happened. She circled around, desperately looking for her child. Though the little girl was okay, the mother was hysterical by the time she found Mock and her daughter.
According to car seat technician Karen Blackburn, each car seat is equipped with straps that should be connected to the actual seat of the vehicle. Doing this would ensure that no child will fly out of the car in the event of an emergency such as this one.
If you have a child that uses a car seat, please be sure that you are properly attaching these straps where they need to go. In a situation like the one described here, it might just save a life.
