Video Captures Little Girl's Delighted Reaction To Receiving Her New Donated Hair

We all want our children to grow up to be good people. When they’re kind to one another, our hearts are happy, and we feel that the next generation is off to a great start. The following two girls, while of differing ages, personify the kind of generosity and gratitude our society longs to preserve. One is giving and happy to be so, and the other is just as gracious in her reaction.

A Little Girl With A Painful Secret

Bridget was as full of smiles and laughter as any other little girl. On the surface, she looked just like any other young child. Beneath the smiles, however, Bridget carried the secret of hair loss due to alopecia, as this video from Buzzfeed shows.

Met The Desire To Do More

Hannah, the majority "hair donor", had considered donating her hair for some time. One day, she visited a hair salon to cut 12 inches from her dark blonde hair. Her shiny, flowing locks were sent to the charity “Wigs for Kids.”

With The Help Of Many Others

Once her hair arrived at “Wigs for Kids,” an organization that creates hairpieces for children, it was combined with 10 to 20 ponytails from other donors. The ponytails were sewn together, and each hair was hand-woven to a customized cap in the shape of Bridget’s head, the video shows. The little girl would soon get her hairpiece.

They Made One Little Girl Very Happy

When the big day arrived, Bridget eagerly sat in a salon chair awaiting her new look. As the “Wigs for Kids” representative handed Bridget her new hairpiece, she stroked it and enthusiastically hugged it. After she was wearing her new hair, she brushed it and later remarked, “now, I’ve got some hair.” The video has over 32 million views, and it's clear to see why.

This account was a stunning display of both inner and outer beauty. What do you think of young people helping children in such a practical way? Perhaps you or a loved one has donated hair, an organ, or other valuable item or maybe you’re the recipient of such generosity. If so, be generous and tell your own story here or on another social media site.
