Anyone who has ever had a pet knows that they are much more than just an animal. They're a best friend, a companion, and a true family member. Usually our four-legged friends are faithful over their many years and remain loyal to their owner. But like everything in life, your pet's journey has an end. If the moment has come to have the animal put down by a veterinarian, it is usually the worst moment in the life of an animal lover. It tears the owner's heart out to let their little buddy go forever.

A veterinarian has recording some illuminating experiences from these difficult situations: It is not only incredibly difficult for the owner but also for the pet. And this is unfortunately due to the majority of owners' complete misconduct before euthanizing their pet.

The discussion arose through a post by Jessi Dietrich. Jessi asked a vet what the worst moments were in his job. The veterinarian called it: "Putting an animal to sleep." However, it is not the situation itself that is to blame, but the behaviour of the pet owners in this difficult situation. With their behavior, they inflict even more suffering on their beloved friend than necessary.

According to comments by the veterinarian mentioned at the beginning, only about 10 percent of the owners are present for the euthanasia. The majority of pet owners do not want to experience this moment. Thus the animals are alone during their last walk since they are without their loved ones who have been with them their whole lives. Even if you don't want to believe it, the animals take it very well that they are just left alone. Pets often look around nervously and imploringly for their owners. And that's exactly what breaks the vet's heart again and again, and that's why it's the worst part of his job.

The vet's explanations, which were originally only an answer to an open question, spread rapidly. Countless pet owners commented on his responses and touchingly described their hardest day: saying goodbye to their four-legged friend. Many describe this experience as one of the hardest days in their lives. They hope that their pet is looking down on them now, and they know that their little friend is always with them in their hearts.

Among the descriptions of the comments, there are also some who did not leave their animal alone at their worst moment and helped them as a whole family. The moment is described as absolutely heartbreaking. All of these beloved animals will live on forever in their memories.

It is human to first think of yourself and your feelings. But when it comes to saying goodbye to your beloved pet, it is essential to put yourself in the shoes of the animal that is now saying goodbye to life. Your pet doesn't deserve to be left alone in their last few minutes. No matter how hard it is, the owners should bite the bullet and pay their last respects to the animal to give them a sense of comfort.
