Air Force Veteran Larry Peteet was admitted to the hospital after a terrible car crash. Sadly, when he returned home, he realized that he had been separated from his emotional support dog.

Sandy has been a constant companion to Peteet over the years. The veteran suffers from PTSD and depression and relies on the 8-year-old labrador retriever to help him with the everyday challenges of life.

While he was in the hospital, Peteet put Sandy in the care of his neighbor. However, the neighbor left Sandy in a dog park when she had to go catch a flight, leaving Peteet separated from his beloved pet.

It is understandable that Peteet panicked when he could not find his dog. He even went so far as to hire a pet detective to try to locate Sandy after he could not find her after looking at various animal shelters, reports Patch.com. Peteet also offered up a $500 reward for the safe return of Sandy. He was clearly desperate to be reunited with his dog.

After 22 days of searching, Peteet finally got the miracle he had been asking for. A good samaritan found Sandy and took her in as a stray. The pet detective was able to locate the dog and reunite her with her rightful owner.

You can now check out this touching video that highlights the special relationship that Peteet shares with his lab below:

After you have watched the sweetness, be sure to spread the puppy love to everyone else that you know. Support dogs like Sandy deserve to be celebrated and honored for their commitments to their owners. Larry should be recognized for stopping at nothing to find his dog.
