“I cry just thinking about it. I am praying for the Bryant family, the Altobelli family and the families of all who perished in this unthinkable tragedy. Rest In Peace Legend."

Jennifer Lopez wrote a long post on her Instagram page to talk about what she believed mattered most to Kobe...family. The singer talks about looking through photos of the athlete and seeing that family is what he cared about above everything.

She also made sure to say that what Vanessa is going through doesn’t compare to the pain fans feel. “We are all feeling sadness from this loss, but all I can think of is that it is a grain of sand compared to what Vanessa must going through right now.” She offered condolences to Vanessa by saying:

“The most unfair thing in life is to lose a child and husband on the same day. Vanessa, I pray for your strength and that God guides you each step of the way through this unimaginable heartbreak.”

Lopez also addressed the other families affected by the accident, “ To the other families who are suffering from this unthinkable tragedy, may God be with you all.”

The petition reads: “With the untimely and unexpected passing of the great Kobe Bryant please sign this petition in an attempt to immortalize him forever as the new NBA Logo.” Although the petition’s initial goal was 500,000, it has since been risen to 3 million due to the number of signatures it gathered in such a short time after going live. The NBA’s current logo features Los Angeles Laker’s star Jerry West and debuted in 1971.
