Valentin Chmerkovskiy Picks Tiny Girl As His Dance Partner Not Expecting Her To Move Better Than Him

Celebrity professional dancer, Valentin Chmerkovskiy, is best known for his appearances on the hit dancing competition show “Dancing with the Stars.” Chmerkovskiy is from Ukraine and is a master at ballroom dancing and other styles. He is a 14-time National Latin Dance champion. His older brother and father are also professional dancers.

Chmerkovskiy is part-owner of nine social dance studios called “Dance with Me” which are mostly located on the east coast of the United States. In 2015, he began dating fellow “Dancing with the Stars” dancer, Jenna Johnson and they were married in April 2019. The stars shared on social media in June 2021 that they had just bought their first home. The couple seems very happy together.  

In a video posted to Chmerkovskiy’s Facebook page, you can see the dancer practicing with a young girl as his partner. The young dancer’s name is Camila and she showed off her skills in front of a crowd of other students. The little girl is tiny but a fierce dancer, she showed extreme energy and focus. Some might even say she outperformed the professional! 

The video was posted in May of 2021 and begins with Chmerkovskiy and Camila dancing in unison. The little girl has no issue keeping up with the professional. Her movements are sharp and precise with clean lines that make her seem practiced beyond her years. Chmerkovskiy looked so happy during the dance and it was clear he was impressed with his partner’s abilities. Read on to learn more about this awesome duo. 

The description on Chmerkovskiy’s video from Facebook reads: “Hey world, meet Camila, my new dance partner. This Mother’s Day I can’t help but think of and thank all the mothers that support their children. Giving life to a child is hard, being a mother that supports her child is even more difficult.” 

The dancer added, “Coming back from another weekend of working with young men and women, I am once again impressed by the discipline and talent that is out there, that’s a sign of some amazing mother’s … (and) yes my shirt is ripped, I was going really ham earlier in the class.” Chmerkovskiy seems incredibly thoughtful and sentimental based on his post for Mother’s Day.

Chmerkovskiy also posted a heartfelt message for his dad on Father’s Day on Instagram. He wrote, “Love you pops, the greatest man I’ve ever met. Thanks for always putting us first. We went from respect with a hint of fear to admiration and when I was old enough to discover you too had flaws we became best friends. You’re my favorite dude to kick it with for sure!” The entire family seems very close, Chmerkovskiy and his brother will be going on tour together in 2021. 

Dancing is more than just a job to Chmerkovskiy, it holds a deep meaning for the performer. He wrote in another Instagram post, “When I’m dancing I am in a meditative state on a different frequency completely tuned out and tuned in. I thank god daily for my ability to love music and movement the way I do.”
