US Marine Medic Rescues Orphaned Baby Bunnies

A Navy corpsman became a hero in a special way when he rescued a group of baby rabbits from a life or death situation. Joshua Bisnar was raking near a volleyball court in his base at Camp Pendleton, California when he came upon a dead rabbit.

Examining the animal closer, Joshua determined that the rabbit was the mother of four baby kits who lived in a small hole near the court. Unwilling to leave the baby bunnies to die without their mother, Joshua grabbed a box lined with some of his old shirts and brought them home with him.

At first, Joshua was unsure of how to raise the rabbit kits. Searching the internet for information, Joshua bottle-fed the baby bunnies multiple times a day with an eyedropper. "I would feed them at about 6am before work, 12pm at lunch and 6pm," he said in The Daily Mail. Sadly, Joshua knew that he would soon have to say goodbye to his new friends.

About two months later, when the babies began jumping out of their box, Joshua took them to a wildlife sanctuary and released them. Over the course of his two months with the quartet, Joshua became famous on YouTube as he kept his followers informed of the babies’ progress. While Joshua loves the bunnies, he knows that he did the right thing in releasing them in a wildlife sanctuary.

The corpsman says that he hopes the four are living a great life by going on adventures and meeting girl bunnies. The four rabbit kits are not the only animals Joshua has saved, however. While serving in Afghanistan, Joshua would get in trouble for petting cats and dogs.

What do you think of how Joshua rescued the four rabbit kits after their mother died? What would you do in a similar situation?
