Harold, the hero. It just sounds good. What you're about to read is a roller coaster of emotions. Dog lovers, make sure you have a box of tissues nearby.

Harold is a dark grey pit bull from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He looks so happy. His tongue hangs out of the side of his mouth. He looks like he has a huge grin on his face. One ear flops over on the side of his head while one stands up straight. He looks at the camera with his head slightly tilted. He looks so innocent. It makes his story harder. And more beautiful.

Harold was adopted from a local animal shelter. Actually, he was adopted three different times. And each time, he was returned. The smart, happy pup did nothing wrong. Each time, different circumstances brought him back. The last adoptive family claimed he just wasn't the right fit. So back into the cage Harold went. To wait, yet again, for a prospective home. Would he ever find a family to call his own?

Who would have thought Harold's return could have been a miracle in disguise? Upon his arrival, the shelter staff noticed that Harold began to show some strange behaviors while out on a walk. Staff report that he kept going back to the same spot on the property, the place where the shelters loads and unloads new puppies and donations. The staff would try to call Harold away from this spot, but he was fixated.

Finally, one of the staff decided to investigate the are that Harold seemed so obsessed with. A large Tupperware container was sitting on the ground beside a truck bed. When the staff member looked inside the container, he was shocked. Inside squirmed 6 tiny puppies. They would have gone completely unnoticed if not for Harold.

Harold's story is one that reminds us to keep the bigger picture in mind. Although his return to the shelter is heartbreaking, those puppies are alive because of Harold. Do you have a "bigger picture" story? We'd love to hear it in the comments and for you to pass Harold´s story on to other animal loving friends.
