U.S. Mail Service Is Offering Military Working Dog Stamps

Dogs are finally getting their day with The United States Postal Service.

Canines have been doing their part in the military since the times of the Civil War. To pay tribute to their contributions, the postal service is now offering a new kind of Forever Stamp set that features the dogs. The collection is called the Military Working Dogs stamp set, featuring four of the most common breeds of dogs that serve with our military forces.

The four breeds that are featured on the stamps are a German shepherd, a Belgian malinois, a labrador retriever, and a Dutch shepherd. Behind each dog, you will find a red or blue background with white stars, paying tribute to the United States. Each book costs $11 and includes 20 stamps, as chronicled here at CNN.

It is no secret that dogs have played a pivotal role in various duties in the military and law enforcement. In 2017, there were approximately 1,600 military dogs serving the country. These pooches should be honored for their service to their human friends.
