Two Tiny Wrestlers Leave Crowd In Stitches By Taking Mat For First Time

It's always great to introduce children to sports at a young age, but what happens when a child doesn't know how to play a certain sport? This video from July 2020 shows us exactly what happens. Two toddler wrestlers put up a hilarious fight as they went on the mat for the first time.

Enter Jay, a little wrestler who was seen suiting up for his first match on a recent Instagram video. Everything seemed to be going well for Jay at first. He went to the center of the mat and prepared to take on his opponent. At least, that's what everyone thought would happen.

As soon as the whistle blew, young Jay decided that he was more interested in the match on the other end of the mat and ran over to check it out. Jay eventually returned to his own match after his mother encouraged him to stick around and told him that he's "gotta wrestle" and go after his young opponent.

After the first round of this epic encounter was clearly a wash, the two tiny wrestlers went back to their own mat to begin round two. Jay's opponent proceeds to try to dazzle him by dancing around in a circle. “Lord have mercy. Come back, come back, come back," one of the moms says as the two young warriors decided to wander off in opposite directions.

To be fair, the two young athletes were clearly enthusiastic about the art of wrestling at first, but maybe it's not really for them. After all, the whole point of a wrestling match is to wrestle your opponent, not sprint to the other end of the mat to see what else is happening.

Fortunately, all is not lost for young Jay. He might not be cut out for wrestling, but he might have a bright future as a track star if his parents heed the advice of commenters who told him to "put that boy in track." After all, he did seem to have the time of his life running after the wrestlers in the other match.

If nothing else, at least Jay brought a smile to everyone's face, even if he's more of a runner than a wrestler. If this brought a smile to your face or if you have any of your own stories about youth sports gone hilariously and unexpectedly wrong, pass it along!
