Singers Celine Tam and Jeffrey Li performed Josh Groban's You Raise Me Up for the Miss World 2017 final held in Sanya City Arena in Sanya, China. They were just nine and twelve years old respectively then.

It's always an amazing feat when humanity and compassion meld together to lift up youths from around the world. That's exactly the situation with America's Got Talent and two of their 'Golden Buzzer' winners Jeffery Li and his little singing partner Celine Tam.

According to WWJD, The Tuloy sa Don Bosco School in Manilla, Philippines was started in 1997 by Father Marciano Evangelista, better known to his students by the affectionate nickname Father Rocky. More than an educational institution, the organization provides shelter to at-risk youth.

Many of them lived on the city’s dangerous streets and were likely bound for lives of poverty, drug abuse, and crime. Father Rocky’s school educates a thousand students, nearly of third of whom are also given housing. More than getting these kids off the streets and giving them basic education, the organization emphasizes vocational training and creative expression through the performing arts.

Father Rocky's Tuloy sa Don Bosco school was able to educate thousands of students every single year. Almost a third of them were also provided housing.

In order to guarantee the children a better life ahead, the school focuses on teaching the children and adolescents various vocational trades and creative forms of expression through the performing arts. These arts include painting, sculpting, cooking, and singing.

The Miss World competition in 2017 named Father Rocky the Humanitarian of the Year award winner. Father Rocky was humbled and completely shocked that he was able to receive such a stellar award from such a prominent organization.

Singers Celine Tam and Jeffrey Li, then nine and twelve years old respectively, were slated to perform Father Rocky's favorite song Josh Gorban's You Raise Me Up. The lyrics are actually highly appropriate for the personal life of Father Rocky:

"You raise me up so I can stand on mountains, you raise me up to walk on stormy seas, I am strong when I am on your shoulders, you raise me up more than I can be."

Jeffrey and Celine wore their absolute best attire for the performance; despite being at such a tender age, each child could clearly understand the gravitas of the situation and the importance of their performance for Father Rocky. But that's not all, Father Rocky's students sang along with the duo as a choir, streamed all the way from The Philippines.

The audience was touched just as much as Father Rocky was; you could see tears coming from their eyes that glistened off of the lights above. The climax of the performance were the dozens of backup singers that were streamed live from the Philippines to support the duo and express their own thanks to the man of the hour!

What do you think about the performance of the two young singers? Do you think that the performance was a fitting tribute to Father Rocky? Do you think you or your friends would ever volunteer to help out children in need by teaching them how to sing and dance? If so, we want to hear all about it in the comments!
