There’s no denying that Pit Bulls have a bad reputation. But is this reputation warranted? Pit Bulls are known for their large heads and powerful bodies. But are they gentle giants or are they actually the monsters that the media portrays them to be?

An anime rescue organization shared this touching 2013 video of two Pit Bulls with a history of bad treatment playing in a room together.

In the media, these animals are often described as vicious and dangerous beasts that shouldn’t be owned by anyone. In fact, some landlords won’t even allow these "bully" breeds to live in their buildings. Often, these animals end up spending their lives in shelters due to the lack of interest the public has in adopting them because of the reputation that surrounds the breed. They are often looked at as a threat to society. However, the stigma attached to owning a Pit Bull is unfair and unwarranted.

People who own Pit Bulls know exactly how amazing these animals can be. Pit Bull lovers often adopt these animals and give them loving homes where the dogs grow up to be happy, healthy, friendly and affectionate. Many people trust their Pit Bulls with their lives and allow their young children to play with them, proving that there’s no such thing as a bad dog, only bad owners who instill negative and harmful traits into these animals.

Once you bond with your Pit Bull, it will provide you with a lifetime of love and loyalty. Unfortunately, many owners mistreat their Pit Bulls which leaves them with behavioral issues. Many animals of this breed are abused and neglected. But what happens when you put two Pit Bulls who both have a history of maltreatment together in a room?

An animal rescue group called Hope For Paws decided to arrange a playdate between two of their Pit Bulls. Although both of the Pit Bulls had suffered abuse from their previous owners, the organization staff trusted the two animals together and wanted to see if they would enjoy playing with each other.

Although both animals are sporting scars from their traumatizing pasts, these dogs aren’t judgmental and fell in love with each other anyway! They show no signs of timidness or aggression once they begin playing happily with each other. Thankfully, the organization recorded the adorable moment and posted it online for people to view.
