Kendra Herrin and Maliyah Herrin were born on February 26, 2002. They shared a bladder, one kidney, a large intestine, and a liver. Separation was considered, but their parents, Erin and Jake, knew that separation would be extremely risky.

When Erin was pregnant, some doctors even suggested aborting the twins. One doctor told them the twins couldn’t survive on their own. He claimed they didn’t have the organs they needed to survive. However, the twins were born and grew.
