Twin Sisters Celebrate Both Their Daughters Being Born On Their Birthday: It’s A ‘Present That Keeps Getting Sweeter’

Most parents would likely be excited to hear that they are set to have twins. Naturally, there is some added stress and uncertainly about the future, but also the doubling of joy and happiness in the family. Fraternal twins are conceived when a mother releases two eggs during the same cycle. Two different sperm fertilize these eggs. Identical twins are conceived from one egg and one sperm. So, identical twins share 100% of their DNA, but fraternal twins only share 50%.

Fraternal twins are essentially siblings, as they will have completely different genes from each other. Sometimes, fraternal siblings can look almost identical, as is the case with famous twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. Most people do not know that the sisters are actually not identical!

There is a belief that twins always have some sort of special connection, be it emotional or spiritual. While this cannot be scientifically proven, many twins report having a wonderfully close relationship that stems from their twin-ness.

Tennessee twins Autumn Shaw and Amber Tramontana — who both gave birth on their birthdays just 90 minutes apart on October 29, 2020 — go to show that there may be something to the incredibly unique twin connection. The sisters have always been close, but they could not have predicted that they would go through the amazing experience of pregnancy and childbirth together as well. The story is sure to warm your heart.

Amber and Autumn are twin sisters who are also happy mothers. Having spent most of their lives doing things together, it seems natural that these loving sisters would also end up entering motherhood together.

According to Fox News, they were pregnant with their sons simultaneously — both of whom are currently four years old. They attended nursing school together, as well.

Unbelievable as it may sound, the sisters never planned on getting pregnant at the same time, and came as a massive shock for both of them. Sadly, Autumn had a miscarriage less than a year before the birth of her daughter, according to PEOPLE.

It was a very painful time, but she took strength from her faith. "God made our story very, very special, and all the little details came together for a big, beautiful picture, and I'm so thankful for that," Autumn said.

When Autumn realized a few months after the miscarriage that she was pregnant again, she immediately told her sister. Amber had shocking but amazing news herself – she was pregnant, too! That's not the best part, though! The sisters came to know that their pregnancies would be parallel to each other, and both of them had the same due date: their own birthdays!

"After our miscarriage, we struggled with 'Why did we have to go through this?'" Autumn said, referring to her and her husband Scott's pain at the time. "But we knew that God had a plan for us, and ... whatever that plan was, it was bigger than anything we could ever imagine, without a shadow of a doubt."

Considering due dates are rough estimates based on pregnancy lasting an average of 40 weeks, it's unlikely that the baby will be born exactly on the date predicted. In fact, a 2013 study in Australia found that only about five percent of babies are actually born on their due dates.

Additionally, many factors like the baby's sex and mother's health, for example, determine when the baby is to arrive. For both Autumn and Amber to give birth on their exact due dates would be nothing short of a miracle.

Well, something uniquely special was about to happen at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville. Their doctor, George Vick, was as stunned by what would happen with the sisters on that day. He had seen Amber on October 28, 2020,and it appeared she was in the early stages of labor. The next day, Autumn arrived at the hospital and was "ready to roll."

Dr. Vick called it a "miracle" in an interview with Good Morning America after Autumn delivered sweet baby, Charleston, and Amber delivered adorable, Blakely, just 90 minutes later that same day.

The sisters also said that their daughters formed an immediate connection, much like they had when they were born. "They took to one another like they'd already spent nine months in the womb together," Autumn recalled. "They just knew what to do and how to come together and comfort one another."

Autumn and Amber will have much to celebrate together as the years go by. "It's the birthday present that keeps getting sweeter," Amber said about their beautiful birth experience. "year after year."

So, let us know what you think of Autumn and Amber's fantastic delivery of Charleston and Blakely. Has anything this miraculous happened to you or in your family? Don't forget to pass on this story to anyone who could use a smile!
