After the news of Kobe Bryant's ultimate death in a helicopter accident in California on Sunday night, tributes have been coming out to honor the basketball superstar. He was onboard the helicopter along with eight other people, including his 13-year-old daughter Gianna, when it crashed with no survivors.

SportsCenter presenter Elle Duncan took to the airwaves to send out her special tribute, and it ended up starting a social media trend unrelated to his basketball skills but to his parenting.

This Monday, Duncan spoke about the very first time she met Kobe Bryant on a broadcast on Monday.

She says she thought to herself, "Oh my gosh, that's Kobe. I've gotta get a picture for the 'gram."

And a photo she got indeed. According to the anchor, she was pregnant at the time and asked the late basketball player if he had any advice on raising a girl. He replied: “Just be grateful you’ve been given that gift, girls are amazing.”

According to Duncan, Bryant also joked about how his wife wanted to try for a son.

"He commented his wife Vanessa wanted to try for a boy but was jokingly concerned it would be another girl... I said, “How would you feel about that?” WITHOUT hesitation he said “I WOULD HAVE 5 MORE GIRLS IF I COULD... I’m a girl dad I love the challenge of raising women.”

As Duncan shared her experience on-air, the anchor couldn't help but tear up. The show ended up being so emotional that many people, including celebrities like Chrissy Teigan, took to social media to praise Duncan.

"In a sea of tributes that ached my soul, this one had to be the most beautiful and heart-wrenching. Thinking of their friends, families and the pain they are going through with great love. Someone take care of all the broken hearts dealing with unimaginable loss," Teigen wrote.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Bryant family.
