Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, room temperature, plus more for greasing
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup plus 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup quick-cooking oatmeal
  • 6 ounces butterscotch chips (about 1 cup)
  • 1 cup confectioners’ sugar
  • 4 tablespoons milk

Directions:

  1. Gather all of the ingredients together and preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Take an electric mixer and beat the brown sugar, granulated sugar, butter and 1/2 cup of peanut butter until it makes a smooth mixture. Continue by adding the egg and vanilla.
  3. Next, add the flour along with the salt and baking soda. Once the ingredients are finely mixed, spread the batter over a greased pan.
  4. Sprinkle the butterscotch chips over the batter, and then bake it for 25 minutes. Keep a close eye on the batch, and remove it when the edges are brown.

Whisk the milk, sugar and remaining 1/4 cup of peanut butter and lace the top of the warm bars. You can choose to eat the bars while they're hot or wait until they have cooled down.
