Dolly Parton is a country music icon. The blonde bombshell entered the music industry as a successful writer. She released her first solo album, Hello, I'm Dolly," in 1967. Throughout her decades-long career, the "Coat of Many Colors" singer has blended aspects of country, rock and roll, and pop into her impressive musical catalog. Parton has been inducted into the Country Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Due to her remarkable career, A Taste of Country Music referred to the country cooner as one of "the most powerful women in country music history."

According to The Boot, Patron's biggest hits include "Jolene," "I Will Always Love You," and "9 to 5." Billboard revealed that the famed country singer is the first artist in history to have a song in the top 20 hits on the Hot Country Songs Chart every decade since the 1960s. Patron released "Jolene" in 1973, making it her first hit single. Her real-life events inspired the song. Patron wrote the hit single about her husband Carl Dean's frequent visits to the bank after catching the eye of a tall red-haired bank teller. The Rolling Stones referred to the hit as "one of the most obsessively complex love stories ever captured in a country song." Many musicians have used their vocal talents to belt out the covers of the 70s hit, such as her goddaughter Miley Cyrus, The White Stripes, and Alison Krauss.

Now, Chapel Hart, a country band, can add their name to the list of accomplished singers covering one of Parton's most iconic hits. The band auditioned for America's Got Talent on Jul. 19, 2022, with their own rendition of Parton's classic hit. The original piece features a fun and updated twist to the lyrics that even Parton would approve.

Chapel Hart is a country band composed of sisters Danica, Devynn Hart, and their cousin Trea Swindle. The trio wowed America's Got Talent judges when they took the stage to sing their own version of Dolly Parton's famous hit Jolene.

Ahead of the viral audition, the members of Chapel Hart expressed their love for Parton and the reason they remixed her classic hit.

"We just loved the storyline, and we figured, though, from 1973 to 2022, we cannot be fighting over the same man," Danica told the judges.

"So we decided to tell her, 'You can just have him, Jolene.'"

The Mississippi trio sang, "Oh Jolene, you can have him cause he don't mean much to me. Well, I cried so much, two rivers turned to seas / Oh Jolene, when you think that he's in love he'll surely leave / Like he did me / You can have him, Jolene."

The judges were so moved by their performance that each judge from the panel and the host, Terry Crews rang the Golden Buzzer for the group. This marked the second time in America's Got Talent history that a contestant has received this honor.

Dolly Parton was also highly impressed by the group's rendition of her 70's classic. The music icon retweeted Chapel Hart's audition and commented on their talent.

"What a fun new take on my song, @ChapelHartBand!" Parton wrote on Twitter.

In the tweet, Parton also joked about the origin of the song "Jolene" and referred to her husband, Carl Dean.

"Carl's birthday is today so I think I'll hang on to him," She wrote.

"and I'm not notifying Jolene that today is his birthday."
