Touching Photo Shows What A Technician Did When He ‘Walked Into A Mess’

There are so many things that parents have to take care of, and it can feel like an impossible ordeal to get half of them done correctly. This is especially true when one has a special needs child. One mother likely wasn't expecting the person upgrading her internet to have such a powerful effect on herself and her three-year-old with special needs. This is a story that shows the awe-inspiring nature of compassion and just how easy it can be to forge a connection.

Jessica Nash Donnahoo is a mother to two children: a two-year-old girl and a three-year-old boy named Sailor. Sailor was born blind and has dealt with brain issues since birth. Sailor requires lots of attention. Though Jessica no doubt loves him, it's very hard to keep up with the needs of a child like Sailor.

Jessica spoke to Good Morning America about an especially rough day. That morning, it was hard for Jessica to figure out what exactly her son needed. He was beyond upset, but Jessica couldn't find a viable solution, no matter how much she tried.

To make matters worse, she also had to take care of her daughter and get ready for the cable technician to arrive.

When the technician Robert Kinney arrived, Sailor was still worked up. Stressed out, the last thing Jessica probably expected to help would be having a stranger in the house. But Robert's presence turned out to be super soothing for Sailor. Upon hearing his voice, the three-year-old wandered over.

Robert embraced Sailor and helped comfort him while Jessica took care of the laundry. Even though these kinds of appointments are usually done as quickly as possible, Robert knew that he couldn't just dash out the door, especially not when this young child had such a connection to him.

Jessica wasn't shy about sharing her gratitude.

She expressed her appreciation to Robert for being so kind and told Spectrum about how he deserves recognition. It turns out that Robert is a parent himself. This sort of paternal instinct sticks with him, whether his own four-year-old is in need or a child such as Sailor.

This story teaches us about the never-ending importance of never making assumptions. When you think of an internet technician coming over, you probably don't think about them being so sensitive.

Robert's actions show that anyone can be a source of comfort.
