Antionette Marley is 97-years-old and resides in Asheboro, North Carolina. Just making it to 97 is amazing enough, but this caring woman isn't just enjoying retirement, she is out there making a difference in other people's lives. Every Tuesday, like clockwork, she goes to the Our Daily Bread Soup Kitchen at 11 a.m. to volunteer to feed others. She's been doing this since 2001.
Since she can't drive anymore, her son takes time out of his Tuesdays to make sure she gets there. Ms. Marley prides herself as usually being the first in the line of volunteers serving food to the hungry according to Fox 8 News.
She usually serves the main course, which is often meat-based. The director of the soup kitchen and the other volunteers appreciate her efforts and say she brings joy to everyone, both the other volunteers and the people coming in for a hot meal.

Helping others has always been a part of Ms. Marley's life. She has received two formal awards for her service, the N.C. Governor’s Volunteer Service award in 2015 and the 2014 Service Above Self Award from the Randolph Rotary Club for her work at the Hospice of Randolph County according to the Courier-Tribune.
In addition, she has raised over $20,000 for the Hospice by selling delicious treats at its annual bake sale. Other volunteers say they are inspired by her selflessness and ability to give so freely to people in need according to the Courier-Tribune.
“She’s been a blessing to me every time I see her walk through the doors,” Gene Woodle, the soup kitchen's executive director said to Fox 8 News.
