In an interview with the The Daily Mail Tom Jones says he is "partly to blame" for Linda's tragic passing from lung cancer. He said he began blaming himself when he looked at the lyrics of his wife's favorite song "What Good Am I?" By Bob Dylan. "The song is about someone who turns their back and someone who is not seeing what is really happening. It started to mean more. It’s like, “Why couldn’t I have stopped it?”

"I was reading into the lyrics thinking, “Jesus Christ, was I partly to blame? Should I have woken up before?” I thought, “What could I have done?” Jones said.

However, Jones knows he couldn't have done anything because by the time they discovered Linda's cancer it was already too late. "But then you start to think, “What if I had forced her to go to the doctors?” Because she didn’t go," Jones said. "You think, “S***, maybe I should have said she had to.”'

However, the crooner contends that singing has helped him heal since Linda's passing. "Another thing about growing old that I don’t particularly like is that you lose friends. But the great thing about going on and doing something you love to do is that you start to make new friends."
