Tom Cruise Showcases First 'Top Gun: Maverick' Trailer At Comic-Con 2019

Tom Cruise just gave Comic-Con attendees an unexpected surprise on Thursday, where he made an impromptu appearance during Paramount's Terminator: Dark Fate panel.

The actor last made an appearance at the convention in 2013, when he was promoting his movie Edge of Tomorrow. This time, he was introduced by Conan O’ Brian and gave fans who were present the opportunity to be the first to watch the Top Gun: Maverick trailer.

"I've traveled around the world and people always say, 'When are you going to do another?'" Cruise said when addressing the crowd. "For 34 years, you all have been very, very patient with me. And I felt it was my responsibility to finally really deliver for you."

The trailer featured a lot to get excited about; from fierce shots of Captain “Maverick” Mitchell, portrayed by Cruise, suiting up and giving killer aerial stunts, to glimpses of newcomers like Jennifer Connelly and Jon Hamm, this trailer definitely did not disappoint. The film is set to premiere on June 26th, 2020. 

"Everything you see in this film, obviously, it's for real," Cruise continued. "All of the flying you see in this picture, everything is real. I really wanted to give you all an experience of what it is to be inside that aircraft."

He even called the film a ‘love letter to aviation’.The film is set to premiere on June 26th, 2020.
