Tom Cruise & Nicole Kidman’s Daughter Bella Has Followed In Her Father’s Footsteps Into His Faith

When we think of celebrities, it seems like they're on another planet. They seem to be "larger than life" individuals who live luxurious lives full of wealth, fame, and glamor. And when you're the child of two of the most famous people in the world, it seems like you're practically untouchable. But as you're about to see, famous people really aren't that different from us.

In 1990, actors Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman got married after meeting on the set of one of their films. Unfortunately, the marriage didn't last, with the couple breaking things off in 2001. But before their divorce, they adopted two children together. One was their daughter, Isabella Jane, while the other was their son Connor Anthony.

Being the daughter of two famous people sounds like it could be fun at times, but it can also be incredibly exhausting. As a child of celebrity parents, it may often feel like everyone's comparing you to your parents and judging you when you don't reach their levels of stardom. 

Some people may also try to be friends with star children just so they can get closer to their parents. It seems like the kids have only two options: withdraw from the public entirely, or chase after fame and fortune in an attempt to replicate their parents' success.

Luckily, some famous children manage to pull off a combination of both. They keep it low-key while pursuing their own talents and interests. Bella Kidman Cruise is the perfect example of a famous child who started a successful career in her own right. Read on to learn more about Bella and her relationship with her parents.

Kidman and Cruise's relationship was the talk of the town and easily garnered plenty of media attention when they got together. The two actors were together for more than a decade when they painfully announced that they were splitting up. It came as a shock to the world, and it left Kidman reeling with her heartbroken feelings.

Although Kidman now has two biological children with her current husband Urban, she didn't necessarily feel like it was the right decision during her marriage with Cruise. According to USA Today, one of the reasons why the couple did not have biological children together was because Kidman had an ectopic pregnancy early in her marriage to Cruise. 

While Kidman and Cruise were still married, it was certain they wanted children however even though the loss of a pregnancy was hard on Kidman. "From the minute Tom and I were married, I wanted to have babies," Kidman explained. "And we lost a baby early on, so that was really very traumatic." Fortunately, the couple had other options and chose to adopt – something that has since changed their lives for the better.

They made the decision to become parents and adopted two children: Isabella, who was born in 1992, and Connor, who was born in 1995. As pivotal figures in the entertainment industry, Kidman and Cruise were used to being in the spotlight but did their best to keep their kids out of it and give them a relatively normal upbringing.

Their daughter Bella has gone on to have a wonderful life without the glare of the public eye criticizing her every move.

Bella has gotten married, launched an Instagram account, and delighted fans all over the world with her colorful artwork. Her Instagram has racked up over 25,000 followers – not bad for somebody who doesn't post every day. And while some people in her situation might be chasing fame, Bella prefers to keep it private. She minds her own business and ventures out only occasionally to share a selfie with the world.

Like her brother Connor and her father, Tom Cruise, Bella is a member of the Church of Scientology. When her mother, Nicole Kidman, filed for divorce, she broke free of the church. It seems that her mother doesn't approve of Scientology, but she doesn't let that come between her love for her children. 

In a 2018 interview, Nicole said that her children are free to make their own decisions. As a mother, it's not her job to judge them or try to stop them from making their own choices; rather, it's her job to love them unconditionally.

Nicole might have seen her share of struggles, but luckily, it seems that she's found her happy ending. In 2006, she married the famous country singer Keith Urban. Since then, she's starred in a number of high-profile movies and TV shows. Her ex-husband has also done well for himself, continuing to star in blockbuster action films. 

Some people have called Tom Cruise "the last real movie star." It seems that Bella has a lot to live up to. Luckily, it looks like she hasn't let fame go to her head. She rarely gives interviews or appearances, choosing instead to enjoy her time with her husband, Max Parker. 

In September 2020, Bella posted a selfie on Instagram. If you didn't know she was famous, you might think she was just another chill, down-to-earth influencer. She snapped a picture of herself in the mirror and added a filter to make the image look bright and glittery. The room she's standing in looks fairly basic. It seems that she's chosen to live a plain, quiet lifestyle instead of rolling in wealth and luxury.

Back in May 2020, Bella surprised her fans with another selfie. This picture is a close-up that shows Bella making a playful expression while standing in her kitchen. Again, she comes across as friendly and down-to-earth. This is clearly not a celebrity who takes herself too seriously. She's content to live her life and share occasional glimpses with the rest of the world.

Bella's mom respects her children's privacy and doesn't speak about them much publicly. Kidman shared:

"I'm very private about all that. I have to protect all those relationships. I know 150 percent that I would give up my life for my children because it's what my purpose is."

The actress also opened up about her children practicing Scientology and why it doesn't affect their relationship. "I am an example of that tolerance, and that's what I believe – that no matter what your child does, the child has love, and the child has to know there is available love and I'm open here," Kidman explained.

The star added:

"I think that's so important because if that is taken away from a child, to sever that in any child, in any relationship, in any family – I believe it's wrong. So that's our job as a parent, to always offer unconditional love."
