Traveling for a long distance can be tiresome and tedious. There’s the packing, waiting in lines, going through security, and the flight itself. It can be rough on even the most seasoned traveler.

Traveling can be even worse when you with children and you are bearing all of the stress on your own. If your children are toddlers, it can be maddening. You have to keep a watchful eye on them at all times while juggling the hassles of flying. Kids lose patience easily when they get bored, and it isn’t always easy to keep them occupied when you are trying to do other things.

A toddler recently threw a tantrum at the Los Angeles International Airport, to the point where his mother actually sat down and started to sob.

Beth Bornstein Dannington shared the post to her Facebook page, where it gathered more than 30,000 reactions and 10,000 shares in just three days.

In her Facebook post she talked about how they were all waiting to board a plane to Portland. But all of a sudden, this little boy, about 18 months old, started to have a complete meltdown. He was yelling, crying, and throwing himself onto the ground.

You could clearly see his mother try to talk him down from the tantrum. However, the young child was having none of it. The mom looked tired and worn out, and she was also currently pregnant. When she tried to approach her child, he would take off the other way screaming.

His mother became so frustrated that she sat down on the floor and burst into tears. Her son still threw a tantrum next to her.

So Beth and other women gathered around them both.

One woman picked up an orange and began to peel it for the little boy. Another offered a toy to him from her own bag, while Beth sang “Itsy Bitsy Spider” to him. The boy managed to calm down enough to accept the sippy cup his mother pulled from her bag.

It was a wonderful thing to witness- a bunch of women coming together to help a stranger out who so desperately needed it. The mother was able to gather up her now-calm son and get on the plane just moments later.
