Toddler Tells Story Involving Cow With Adorable Southern Accent

Jan 15, 2021 by apost team

Kids are very imaginative; they can come up with the most creative stories when you least expect it. However, not many are half as creative as Olan Thornberry, a sweet boy who lives in Alabama. The toddler lives together with his parents on a small farm, and he is apparently an excellent storyteller and comedian of sorts. Living on a farm also gives him a lot of material to work with.
Many people who’ve heard him tell stories agree that he is quite the narrator. Since his family lives in a rural area, his tales tend to be a little “wild.” This video from November 2019 of Olan recounting a tale about a cow he met shows exactly what they mean by that.

Most youngsters’ stories are often met with lukewarm responses, but Olan is lucky to have parents who value his tales enough to film them. They’ve already recorded and uploaded quite a number of his imaginative stories on their YouTube channel known as “The Real Wild Thornberrys.” Granted, each story is incredibly fun to listen to, there’s one particular tale that people cannot seem to get enough of.

Here’s Olan’s captivating story about a cow.

His Mom Gets Him To Start

Olan is sitting with his mom and dad, Maegan and Gatlin Thornberry. Both are perfectly aware of their son’s incredible imagination and story-telling ability. They want the world to hear another one of Olan’s tales. When they start filming Olan, mom makes a request, “I need you to tell me about the cow.”

Almost immediately, Olan’s mind goes into creativity mode, and he responds, “Oh.” Without thinking, he jumps into a tale about a certain time he found himself astride a cow.

He Knows Every Detail He Is Sharing Well

Olan explains very clearly how he placed a bridle on a little cow and began to ride it. According to him, the problem is that the animal wouldn’t stay still, so he had no choice but to lock it up. But that’s not all.

“But what did the cow do to you?” His mom asks him. “He bucked me off!” Olan responds enthusiastically.

It’s unbelievably difficult to get any sign showing that Olan is making up the stories. He’s not only funny and cute but confident and coherent as well. The best part about Olan’s presentation is how he says the words. The two-year-old has a captivating accent that makes his stories even more enjoyable.

Little Olan’s Southern Drawl

Nothing makes the toddler’s stories more fascinating than his Southern drawl. According to the Babbel Magazine, the drawl may not be what some people consider it to be. Rather, the report that “What most people call the “Southern drawl” has to do with the length of the vowels. What often happens is the vowel will be diphthongized, meaning it’s split into two syllables. You’ll hear this in lots of words, like “here” as hee-yur or “red” as ray-ehd. Think Tom Hanks in Forrest Gump.”

You can imagine an enthused toddler telling a funny story with a cute accent. It could be the reason people aren’t getting enough of the boy’s stories. Fortunately for many of Olan’s fans, his parents don’t want his tales to end there. They request him to tell them another cow story.

Does Olan Yield To The Pressure To Switch Gears?

Unfortunately for them, Olan is a lot smarter than that. When his parents try to get him to switch to another story and talk about another cow that licked his foot and ate his shoe, little Olan refuses to change it. As it seems, the toddler is too focused on the first story to let it go. His parents simply have to wait until the next time. Although the recording isn’t that long, it has managed to attract the attention of hundreds of thousands of YouTube viewers.

Many people have been enthralled by the cute toddler’s story that the video has been watched more than 500,000 times on YouTube! If you go to the description, you’ll read the following:

“…little 2-year-old Olan is telling a story about a time he was bucked off a cow. We are trying to get him to tell a different story about a cow licking his foot and eating his shoe, but as you see in the video, he has other plans! This boy is very bright, full of imagination, and LOVES to tell stories!”

Many people like the accent, while others enjoy the story. Most people, however, like how he innocently combines both. The little storyteller has indeed melted thousands of hearts across the internet. When you start reading the comments, you’ll see many YouTube users expressing their happiness and appreciativeness. Here’s one example:

“OMG! This is the cutest little boy ever…just love this video!!! Makes me smile!!!”

The video is so addictive that many people are confessing to having watched it countless times. For instance, one person commented on the following:

“I’ve watched this 10,000 times!! I have it saved for bad days. He’s so adorable!!”

It’s Not Over Until It’s Over

Just when you think you’ve heard enough, Olan proves to you that his imagination is wider than you thought. He ends the video by saying: “Just like that motorcycle bucked me off yesterday…”  You can watch the YouTube video down below at the end of the article.

Olan’s imagination is unique, and it shines from the start to finish. Some people love videos that end on a sweet and creative note, but hardly anyone of them would expect a 2-year-old to be that creative. That’s why he has so many viewers, although he doesn’t say much. It’s very easy to predict where Olan is going to be in a few years. His incredible talent of storytelling might even lead him to become one of the best authors or journalists of the future.

Evidently, Maegan and Gatlin Thornberry have done an amazing job so far of encouraging their son to keep his imagination growing. The toddler’s confidence, charisma, and creativity are proof enough that his family has been supporting and loving him. In many cases, it is all a child requires to discover their hidden gifts and rise to the top.
