Toddler Offers Love And Compassion To Frightened Dog As They Wait Out The Thunder

It is well known that pets, in particular dogs, get frightened when they hear thunderstorms. Even as humans we can get scared by them too. This little toddler shows his compassionate side by comforting his distressed golden retriever during a thunderstorm in this video posted to Twitter in March of 2020.

The poor Golden Retriever is seen cowering at the back of his family’s laundry room.

A terrible thunderstorm is thrashing outside and the dog wants to find a place to hide. Luckily the pup has a special friend who will not let him go through this scary situation alone.

The special friend is none other than a little toddler who crawls right up to the dog.

He hugs, strokes, and soothes the pup to help him feel better. He even babbles softly to comfort him. It's a truly beautiful scene!

It is hard not to be moved by such a wonderful display of affection. One viewer commented,

“This shows a loving home this child is being raised in. We need more love and compassion in this world! Imagine that!”

It is so lovely to see such a natural human and pet interaction, but what makes this so amazing is how this young toddler wants to protect his dog.

This shows not only is a dog a man's best friend, but a toddler can also be a dog's best friend!
