Toddler Hears For 1st Time Ever After Cochlear Implant & Her Reaction To Her Dad's Voice Is Priceless

Life is extremely interesting when you’re a toddler. It’s the time in your life when you’re learning how everything works in the world around you. It’s a life-changing moment when you’re finally old enough to understand some more complex concepts.

As you’re reaching a critical age of development, your parents teach you about things you never understood before. You’re continually mind-blown when you learn about the world. 

As it’s already an exciting time in the lives of your people, just imagine how this adorable toddler felt when she was finally able to hear sounds for the first time after she was given a cochlear implant.

Clearly, this is an emotional and meaningful time in the lives of the family of the toddler. Thankfully, video captured from the moment was posted on Facebook and allows us all to share in the joyous occasion!

The toddler, named Annie, is pictured playing with some animal-shaped toys at a table while her father sits next to her. Mom is recording the moment off-camera with Annie’s doctor.

While Annie’s father begins using sign language to communicate with his daughter, she seems comfortable in the doctor’s office thanks to the family and toys that surround her. But the moment Annie’s new cochlear implant turns on, the scene takes a turn.

Once Annie realizes that she can hear her father whispering to her for the first time, everything becomes emotional. Obviously, Annie was surprised by hearing sounds for the first time and glances at her dad trying to figure out what is going on.

But while the doctor stands by confirming that the implant is working, Annie moves over to sit on her dad’s lap while he explains to the toddler what’s going on. When Annie’s mom finally speaks, her dad sweetly informs her that that’s the sound of her mother’s voice.

Obviously, this situation was probably overwhelming for Annie, as she had never heard sounds before. But the adorable tot seems to adjust well to hearing the noises and looks happy and shocked at the same time.

Finally, Annie has time to think about the situation and looks overjoyed with emotion at her newfound ability to hear. Her parents share in the emotional moment with her, and the sight is too precious for words. You can watch the life-changing moment in the video below.
