It is all too easy to take simple things for granted in life. Watching this little boy called Christian react to being able to see his mom for the first time, thanks to a special pair of glasses, reminds us how truly life-changing such inventions can be.

Having all five working senses is a blessing, but it is also a blessing that people in the science and medical professions are constantly working on ways to make the senses more accessible to those who have difficulties. Little Christian had sight issues since birth and was prescribed special glasses by his doctor. The result changed everything.

These glasses were made out of special plastic that is soft and gentle to a baby's face, unlike the rigid ones that adults wear. It looks very confusing for Christian when his mom tried to put the glasses on him. He had no idea what was going on!

It was a huge moment when Christian's expression changed showing he could see better. He smiled and threw his arms up.

When his parents adjusted the glasses, his sight improved even more. Christian’s dad asks him, “Hi, you like them, huh?” Christian seems to say yes in his own way. It was also a huge moment for Christian’s parents, who couldn't hold back the tears. Their little baby had never been so happy, and we're sure they had never been so happy either!

It is possible to check a baby's vision when they are about three months old, reports the American Optometric Association. The test is to move a brightly colored toy or object around and see if the baby can follow it with their eys. If they struggle to follow the toy, then they may have some sight issues.

This shouldn't cause too much alarm, as there are great scientists working to improve vision issues for all ages, and these solutions will only continue to get better in the future.

Isn't it heartwarming to see this little boy's joy at gaining sight! Share this with anyone who would like a smile put on their face.
