Today, Lovely And Forever Young Duchess Camilla Marks Her 72nd Birthday With Love And Thankfulness In Her Heart

Today marks Camilla Parker Bowles 72nd birthday, which she will be spending with her husband Prince Charles in Somerset on a royal visit. 

According to their official Royal Diary, the pair will be visiting a celebration of the 70th anniversary of the National Parks and Access to the Countryside Act at a Big Picnic in Exmoor National Park.

Camilla and Charles have been married for 14 years and since they have wed, Camilla has been honored with the title of Duchess of Cornwall, and has become patron of many charities. Her website lists dozens of organizations from the Battersea Dogs & Cats Home to The Royal School of Needlework.

Her website also states that Camilla was initially married to Brigadier Andrew Parker Bowles of whom she kept his last name. They have two children Thomas and Laura, who both respectively had their own weddings around the same time Camilla married Charles in 2005! Camilla was famously "the other woman" in Charles and Diana's relationship, which had not endeared her to the British public.

But now Camilla has become an integral part of the Royal Family who works tirelessly for her charities and has proven her enduring love for Prince Charles. Writer Kathy Lette opined on what she thinks has made it last:

“I don't think it's a fairytale," Lette told Dateline. "I think it's a reality tale and that's what makes it so good. They're old enough, they're experienced enough to know that this is what they really, really want. And I think that this one will absolutely last.”

Lette also reminds audiences that she is the second most senior woman in the royal household, and if Prince Charles ascends to the throne she will then become Queen.
