To All The Grandparents — We Couldn’t Do This Without You. Thank You

Apr 10, 2019 by apost team

As the official day celebrating grandparent's day passes without much recognition and remembrance, only a few parents do not miss this celebration. Most do not even know of this special day for our grandparents, but it exists.

If you are a parent and have more than one child or your second one is on the way, you know how busy you can feel at times or all the time. If your parents are there for you, it is the best help that one can hope for. Grandparents are usually ready to help out at all times without asking for anything but having the chance to spend time with their grandchildren.

Grandparents deserve more recognition than they receive. They deserve all the recognition and appreciation possible from you and your children. There are a million reasons why grandparents need to be told more often how much they are appreciated and how important they are in your life.

Grandparents are always there – they are there from day one. They are on the line whenever they are needed. They love your children just as they loved you. Because you grew up with them and trust them, you can be calm when you leave your children with them. You know that they know what they are doing.

Grandma and Grandpa were there for all the celebrations, the birth of new babies, and the hard times when they were most needed. They are often the ones that help with additional work while you are caring for your children. They mow lawns, buy presents, and cook whenever that is needed.

Grandparents are the ones who understand the way you want your children to be loved and taken care of. They know what to tell your children and how to make them feel beautiful, smart, and special.

One can compare grandparents to angels. They are the angels in your life and the lives of your children. So next time you get the chance to do it, thank your parents and the grandparents of your children for all that they are and the contribution they make to your lives.

Thank you to all the grandparents that are there for their grandchildren and do it with grace and humbleness. From the name of all parents in the world, thank you to the grandparents for their empathy, devotion, and love. You are the ones who have lived longest and know more about the world and these virtues than most people.

Thank you to all the Grandpas who play with the children on the floor as if they are the same age.

Appreciation goes to all Mimis who know just what story to tell children and how to present it to them in order to make their world full of magic.

Thank you to all the Grand-pares for taking children out to explore nature and give them the chance to experience the wild on hikes or just while driving a bicycle through the park.

Thanks to all the Omas who help in the most vulnerable moments of our lives when our children are born. The small gestures and support that you give us in the delivery rooms are more than you can imagine.

Thanks to the Opas who do things that they would usually not thought of doing like changing diapers, wiping messy babies, and cleaning a runny nose.

Thank you, Babas, for knowing how to speak to our children and for teaching them the eternal values of what it is to be truly a human.

Thank you to the Pop-Pops who give children their experience and life lessons even if it is just something as practical but important as saving money or repairing a tire.

Thanks to all the Gigis who give us the time to take a shower or just walk by ourselves and get our senses by while they take care of the children.

Thank you all Mawmaws and Pawpaws for the extra cash you sneak into our children's lives when we find it hard to pay for those extra soccer or ballet lessons that are so important for our children.

Thank you all Yayas who know just what size clothes the child needs. Thank you for teaching our children the songs you were taught as children that were passed down to you from the generations and bring us back home in the thread of time.

Sometimes parents just don't know how to express their endless gratitude to Grandparents or what to grand them for the priceless gifts that they shower grandchildren with. If parents could, they would surely spend all they have to make Grandparents feel special and pampered for once.

For now, though, whilst parents are still trying to raise children and get their footing straight, all they can do is thank you all from the bottom of their hearts for all that you do and are.
