Time-Lapse Film Of Multitasking Mom Proves Women Obviously Do Run Earth

Chicago woman Kristen Krahl who recorded herself multitasking in August while working from home with her kids during the coronavirus pandemic is hoping to empower the millions of women who viewed her video.

In a lot of ways, there's no harder job than being a working mother. You're expected to do it all: hold down a job, keep your clients and bosses happy, deal with a crying baby, maintain a clean house, collapse into bed at night, and wake up and do it all over again tomorrow morning. It's not for everyone, and a growing number of women are (understandably) opting not to have kids.

But the ones that juggle working full-time and raising a child at the same time prove that there's no challenge that women can't conquer.

Kristen Krahl from Chicago runs an Instagram account called '@bemybreastfriend', where she shares tips and information for mothers looking to pump breast milk. One day, she decided to share a video that gives viewers a glimpse into her daily lifestyle.

If you've never had kids, working from a home office while your baby rests in their crib might not seem particularly difficult. But as Kristen shows viewers, working and raising a baby at the same time can be the challenge of a lifetime.

She shared a time-lapse video on Instagram that depicts a day in her home office. After placing her baby crib nearby, she starts pumping breast milk. Throughout the video, we see her alternating between working at her computer, picking up the baby, fiddling with the breast pumps, feeding the baby while she does more work online, and trying to keep both mother and baby occupied.

The video makes it look easy, but when you consider how much effort that each of those tasks requires on its own, it's clear that Kristen is a multitasking powerhouse that can't be stopped.

The joys and perils of motherhood

Imagine working from home, uninterrupted in your office. Working from home poses its own set of challenges, and you'll probably find yourself stressed and frustrated at multiple times throughout the day. Now add a new baby to the mix.

That baby needs constant attention, and just when you're finally starting to focus on your work, the baby starts crying and needs to be fed or rocked. Pretty stressful, right? And now add the task of pumping breast milk into the mixture. It might sound impossible, but Kristen somehow does it all and has time to spare.

Kristen told Good Morning America that she posted the video because she wanted other working mothers to realize that they're not alone. Working from home and raising a child at the same time can feel a little isolating.

But as her video gained thousands of comments and tens of thousands of likes, it's clear that Kristen is part of a massive community of stay-at-home moms who go through the same thing every day.

What did you think? Were you as impressed by this working mom and her tenacity as we were? If so, let us know what you thought about this video in the comments. And if you've got a working mom in your life, send her this video and see if she can relate!
