Tiger Woods has gone through a lot both off and on the golf course. Woods never quite returned to form in the years following a cheating scandal that caused him public embarrassment. However, Woods shook up things recently with his first Masters Tournament win in 11 years.
Woods beat two of his fiercest competitors to obtain the green jacket given by the Augusta National Golf Club. The thirteen under par shot by Woods bested both Phil Mickelson and Rory McIlroy.

Woods was overjoyed at the end of the tournament and celebrated with the exuberance of a first-time winner. The smile on his face was broad and he displayed his trademark fist pump immediately after sinking his final putt.
Emotions were high as Woods hugged his mother and children tightly.
Woods used social media to give thanks to the many people who supported him throughout the years. He expressed his gratitude to fans, friends, and family.
He said the current victory is one he will cherish forever.
Tiger Woods hinted at the cheating scandal and the bad form that plagued his play for many years.
On his social media page he says it is a special accomplishment for him to make a comeback at The Masters after so many years:
"To not only be able to play again, but to be able to win again, is something I will forever be grateful for."
Woods also added a bit of humor to the moment by commenting on how comfortable he felt in his new jacket.
The victory is the biggest for Woods since he won the U.S. Open in 2008. The win also marked the first time he made it to a final group in a major tournament since the PGA Championship in 2009.
The win was the fifth for Woods at The Masters. The only man to win more is Jack Nicklaus who is the winner of six green jackets.
Nicklaus took a moment to offer his congratulations to Woods on Twitter. He called the victory 'fantastic' and expressed happiness at Woods' feat.
A number of other sports stars and entertainment personalities expressed similar sentiments.
The score by Woods was the best posted at the Masters since 2011. At one point, Woods sank three straight birdies on the front nine. He also birdied three of the last six holes. The purse for this year's Masters tournament was $11.5 million. The winners take was $2 million.
