Three Men Draw A Crowd As They Play Piano In Heathrow Airport

How often do pianos sit in lonely rooms, left untouched for days, months, or even years? It’s tragic really. One such piano was sitting alone in a corridor in Heathrow Airport, beckoning to be played. It even had the words “play me” written on its sides in a few different languages.

While it may have had a few passers-by intrigued enough to tinker out a sad rendition of “chopsticks” from time to time, it undoubtedly had never experienced the kind of boogie-woogie jam session that went down in this video.

Three musically talented men happened by the solitary instrument and simultaneously used it to lift the spirits of every weary passenger and grumpy TSA agent within earshot. Dr. K is heard saying, “Alright, I’ll try it…..one, two, and..” on three he starts a foot-tapping melody that would get even grandma and grandpa up out of their seats.

Taking it a step further, his buddy Kenji jumps in on the high keys, bringing a second dynamic layer to the honky-tonk sounding tune. You can see their creativity working together, improvising as they go. Pretty soon, Kenji steps away and Terri Miles joins in on the high notes, going absolutely wild with an accompaniment to Dr. K’s perfect baseline.

The three men begin to draw some spectators, with phones in hand. There’s even a woman in the background who seemingly can’t help but get down and boogie a bit. Not that we blame her; the catchy tune has the power to transport you in time to a bar in the wild west with similar tunes being pounded out on an old dusty piano for a wild dancing crowd.

The finale, and the icing on the cake, is the moment Kenji hops back in and all three men are playing the upbeat tune together, each with their own creative part that works perfectly with the other two.

They finish on a final, emphatic note and Dr. K is literally jumping and spinning with excitement, proclaiming, “Bringing Love, Joy, and Boogie Woogie to Heathrow Airport!” It’s clear that the Boogie Woogie itself is what brings love and joy to these three talented fellas.
