Feb 21, 2019 by apost team

When most people see a sick or hurt child, their heart aches. Finding out that a child is facing a terminal illness is heartbreaking. Even if the child is not your own, just knowing what the little one is dealing with may cause you to feel sad, frustrated and gloomy. You may want to help, but you might not be sure of how to help.

The Reaction to Children Facing Cancer

Seeing a child sick from cancer seems unnatural. Young children should not have to face such a serious health problem.

Kids should be able to play and explore the big world.

A Photo of Three Brave Young Ladies

Two photographers became interested in helping kids with cancer. Those kids were putting in their best effort to cope with the effects of surgery, chemotherapy and radiation.

For little girls, in particular, losing their hair and dealing with the physical changes caused by cancer and cancer treatments can be devastating. The photographers worked some magic in order to help the girls feel like princesses for a day.

The Little Heroes Project

The photos of the little girls went viral on social media. The positive reaction and kind comments inspired the two photographers to expand this service to the community. They went on to found the Little Heroes Project. This project aims to help children with cancer enjoy a fun afternoon.

Their families benefit from the beautiful images taken of them. Sadly, for some kids, it could be their last portrait sessions. The families will treasure the images forever.

An Update About the Three Little Girls

Recently, the photographers released a new photo of the three ladies. It has been a few years since their first photo.

The girls are doing better. They are thriving and growing stronger. In the updated photo, a young man was added. This boy is just starting his fight against cancer.
