Three Children Allegedly Kidnapped In 2017 Have Been Found After Abduction

One of the most heartbreaking instances of parental kidnapping was recently resolved. In August 2017, Shawn Rodriguez, the mother of three young children, Ariana, Daniel and David, kidnapped them and fled their former home in Saline County, Missouri, which is 95 miles east of Kansas City.

This was not done with the permission of the father. It appeared that they were going to California, but no firm information was known or became known in the years that followed.

According to the U.S. Marshals Service, the urgency in this matter increased in 2019, when their father was awarded custody of the still-missing children, and they were officially declared missing that July.

At that point, the sheriff's office in Saline County issued a warrant for her arrest for parental kidnapping and requested assistance from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Soon thereafter, the U.S. Marshals Service got involved. So many were desperately looking for the missing children to return them to their father.

It all came to a head in October 2019, when U.S. Marshals from Texas' Northern District with the assistance of local authorities discovered that Rodriguez, 42, and the missing children, who are now ages 3, 9 and 6, were living in a home in Arlington, 575 miles and a 10-hour drive south of Saline County.

The children were recovered safely and returned to their father, thanks to the help of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. It is unknown where the four of them have been the past couple of years or if they did spend any time in California.
