'This Uniform’s For You' — Teen Music Star Dedicates Song To Military Father

Growing up, many children tend to look up to their parents as heroes and role models. It’s common for them to want to follow in their parents’ footsteps and do exactly what they do, whether it be the way they dress or the job they have. For one young musician, he grew up absolutely adoring his father and decided to finally share his utmost respect for him with the world through a song.

Easton Shane Christian, famously known as Easton Shane, is a young musician from Utah. He has been perfecting his musical craft since he was just a young boy and has already accomplished quite a lot in the music industry despite only being a teenager. He has already collaborated with several artists in the industry and has really started to make a name for himself. Most importantly, he shares powerful and uplifting messages with his lyrics and has inspired many people along his way to stardom.

Easton grew up as a military child. He has immense respect for his father who went off to serve in the war, and decided to put his feelings about this in a song titled “This Uniform’s for You.” With a beautiful and powerful message, the 14-year-old singer found a way to showcase just how heroic the men and women who serve really are, and dedicated the song not only to his father but to all of the brave men and women who serve. Easton was just 14 years old at the time he wrote “This Uniform’s for You.” The up-and-coming music star is now 17 years old and has already accomplished quite a lot in the music industry. According to his biography, he is known for “his crazy socks, mad guitar skills and creating a unique upbeat twist on pop country.” The singer-songwriter has also performed with a number of amazing artists who have already established themselves in the industry, including Dave Matthews Band and Neon Trees. He has also recorded songs for Janice Kapp Perry, Kamie Bolen and David Osmond.

The rising star released his very first EP titled “Roll With It” in October 2017. It’s clear that Easton has real talent as he writes a lot of his own material and even plays a part in creating his music videos. He first learned how to play the guitar when he was only 4 years old, and has since been recognized a handful of times for his impressive skills.

Easton has already begun using his platform for the betterment of others as he has not only written songs with powerful messages, but he has also found a way to still be an incredibly active member of his community. According to his bio, he enjoys working with Our Military Kids, and his song “This Uniform’s for You” went on to become their theme song. In 2021, Easton continued to make his mark on the music industry and released two new songs titled “Endless Nights” and “More Than a Song.”

First uploaded to YouTube in November 2017, the music video for “This Uniform’s for You” has since garnered more than 44,000 views and plenty of positive comments. In the video’s description, Easton explained the incredible story that inspired him to write the song. “Whenever I ask my Dad why he serves in the military, his response has always been, ‘I Wear This Uniform for You,’” Easton wrote. He explained that when he was just 4 years old, his father went off to war, but gave his son a uniform that matched his own. 

“My mom says I have always been my dad’s little shadow,” Easton explained. “I was so excited to be just like him. I wore that uniform all the time and did my very best to fill my dad’s shoes.” It’s evident that Easton has always had a huge amount of respect for his father and the path he chose to go off and serve in the military. Wanting to show his appreciation for all the men and women who serve, Easton wrote a spectacular song in dedication to those in the military. Easton said, “Through this song I hope you will catch a small glimpse into the life of a military family and when you see a service member in Uniform you will remember that they wear that Uniform for You.”

The music video highlights what it was like for Easton to grow up with a father in the military. He sings and plays the guitar over inspiring videos that showcase a young boy wearing a military uniform who grows up to idolize his military dad. At the end of the video, Easton displayed a heartwarming photograph of his father in uniform.
