This Teen Illegally Climbed Egypt's Great Pyramid And The Police Were Not Happy

Eighteen-year-old Andrej Ciesielski was on holiday to Cairo, Egypt, earlier this month when he saw a golden opportunity.  He slipped the cordons and scaled to the top of the Great Pyramid of Giza, and brought back a simply breathtaking view.

Equipped with only a go-pro camera and his wits, the young German tourist circled the complex, waiting for his golden opportunity to present itself.  Unnoticed by other tourists and security he began his 146-meter ascent up the 4000-year old monolith.  Egyptian police spotted him halfway up.  The prospect of a 3-year jail sentence didn't slow him, and he completed his ascension and admired the view.

Andrej couldn't remain in his incredible spot forever.  Over 20 minutes he descended into police custody.  Egyptian authorities promised him his freedom if he deleted all footage and evidence from his incredible climb.  Fortunately, Andrej was able to recover the footage once he returned to Europe, and the results are here to see in the video linked below.

So, was risking 3 years in an Egyptian prison worth it for the once in a lifetime view?  Andrej says absolutely!  Especially with the video footage, he took an Instagram post he made.

Make sure to spread the word so everyone can truly enjoy. What do you think about Andrej taking this risk?
