This Mother Shares A Chilling Warning After Her Young Girl Is Almost Kidnapped At Roadside Rest Stop

We try to teach our kids not to run off alone and talk to strangers. We know that there are things that can happen that we aren’t always prepared for but we do our best to make sure we are.

However, one mother found out that even the most benign situations can have danger lurking around the corner. Abby Sue learned this the hard way and it is a lesson that she and her daughter will not forget!

She was traveling on I-74 outside of Batesville, Indiana when she and her daughter decided to stop at a rest stop and use the bathroom. This was a place that millions of people have stopped at before and she didn’t even think that it couldn’t be safe! Unfortunately, a brightly populated spot isn’t always as safe as we would want it to be, as she was about to learn.

You never know who is around you.

You should always be prepared and that is where the term “situational awareness” comes into play. If Abby hadn’t been paying attention, the situation could have turned dark in an instant. Abby spoke about what happened in a Facebook post that quickly went viral. She wanted to make sure that others were aware of the dangers around them and what they could do to protect themselves. She didn’t want anyone else to go through what she did with her young child.

In her Facebook post, she tells her family and friends that she and her daughter were walking towards the restroom together, holding hands. As they neared the building, a lady who seemed to be “on something” approached them and tried to talk to her daughter. As she talked she also lit a cigarette but put it out when she entered the building with them. Abby and her daughter quickly entered a handicapped stall at the end of the restroom and she could hear the lady talking to another lady. She clearly heard her say “the little girl.”

Abby told her daughter that they wouldn’t be washing their hands that day and that she would carry her to the car. She noticed that the original lady had changed clothes and had left a bag in the bathroom stall. The other lady was at least six-foot tall. Abby took off at a dead sprint and threw her daughter into the car with her, locking the doors behind them.

She then noticed three men standing outside of a gold van with all of the doors open.

Abby believes that if she had not been paying attention to her surroundings, her little girl would have been kidnapped right then and there. She is glad she has the platform to warn others about the dangers that lurk in places we wouldn’t normally think about!

Spread the word around to keep the little ones you love safe!
